The Berkeley Food Institute seeks to transform food systems to expand access to healthy, affordable food and promote sustainable and equitable food production. BFI is empowering new leaders with the capacity to cultivate diverse, just, resilient, and healthy food systems. The institute implements research and educational programs linked to policy initiatives and community engagement. They facilitated thedevelopment of a UC minor in sustainable food systems, develops internship opportunities with local organizations, and offers public events and collaboration to advance learning, exchange, and effective changes to address food system challenges.
